Willy Shim, whose Hawaiian name Keo Kalani means “Echo of the Heavens,” has always embodied the spirit of resilience and connection. Born and raised in Hawai’i, Willy spent decades sharing his love for the ocean, teaching generations to surf and experience the mana that surf and experience the mana that flows through these lands. When the Lahaina fires destroyed his town, home, and business, Willy didn’t seek refuge in material recovery—instead, he turned to the land and his community, determined to lead the way in healing and rebuilding. His mission is not just to restore what was lost, but to ensure Maui thrives, driven by the aloha spirit and the shared love for Hawai’i.
